Unfortunately, Psykiatrialliansen has to temporarily cut in training sessions

13. September 2023 13:00

Psykiatrialliansen has unfortunately lost the state grant from the Norwegian Directorate of Health this year. In the previous 7 years, we have received NOK 600,000.00 each year in operating grants, but this year we unfortunately do not receive any support from them. The refusal is based on the fact that, according to new guidelines, the subsidy scheme can no longer support low-threshold and activity offers such as Psykiatrialliansen. It is also justified by the fact that we do not have sufficient user participation at all levels. We do not quite understand this reasoning.

This unfortunately means that we will have to reduce the training sessions for the rest of 2023 in order to save costs. We hope that this will only be a temporary situation in the coming months, and that from 2024 we will be able to return to full operation again.

In practice, this means that we must now reduce the number of training sessions going forward, from the current level of 27 fixed weekly training sessions. We plan to make the following changes for the rest of the year:
Unfortunately, swimming/aquagymnastics at AdO will be temporarily closed for a period in the future, perhaps for the rest of the year. We will come back with more information about when we can reopen this popular offer.

Our handball and mobility and core strength will also remain closed until further notice.
The climbing at Sammen Fantoft will be closed in October and November. (In these days, a new climbing training has opened in Sandslihallen, in collaboration with Idrett Bergen Sør, where we have received earmarked grants for the operation from some banks/endowments. This means that you can continue to climb with us in the coming months, even if we close Fantoft in October and November to save money.)

Some of the sports where we currently have several weekly training sessions will go from 2 to 1 training session per week for a limited period:
- Strength training with weights will decrease from 2 to 1 weekly training, only in October.
- Yoga will decrease from 2 to 1 weekly training, only in October.
- Volleyball will decrease from 2 to 1 weekly training, only in November.
- Floorball will decrease from 2 to 1 weekly training, only in December.
- Martial arts will be closed in December.

Our other training sessions will not be affected by the changes for the time being, but we would like to point out that this is a provisional plan, and that there may be changes over time. It will therefore be extra important that you pay close attention to the timetable on our website and Facebook page going forward, to see which training sessions are open at all times. Feel free to contact us at the office if you are unsure about which training sessions are open.

For the record, we point out that there is absolutely no danger to the continued operation of Psykiatrialliansen. But the loss of grants from the Directorate of Health means that we have to reduce the level of activity for the rest of the year in order to save money. In any case, we hope to always have a minimum of approximately 20 weekly activities on the timetable, so that there will still be good opportunities to join in great training sessions with us every single day in the future.

If there is someone who wants to support Psykiatrialliansen financially in a somewhat difficult time, it is possible to make a contribution: Vipps no 91887 / bank account number 9522.05.53680. It is also possible to support us via the Grasrotandelen to Norsk Tipping, birthday collections on Facebook and any other way. All large and small contributions are received with great thanks, and will contribute to us being able to keep open as many of our training sessions as possible in the future!

Welcome to training with Psykiatrialliansen. Everyone is welcome, always!
