We had a very nice end for the volleyball coach, Morten, at the Psychiatry Alliance training on Tuesday 1 August.
Morten has been with us since March 2017. It seems like yesterday we started, but it has been 6 and a half years. There have been a few good years with a lot of volleyball inspiration at training and a lot of wise decisions at matches and tournaments. In other words, we have a lot of good memories to look back on with Morten and all our wonderful participants.
It ended up being a super last training for Morten, where everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves to the maximum with some new faces and several old acquaintances at the training. We also set a new record for the number of people who visited a volleyball practice. The previous record was 26 pieces. Tuesday's record was raised to 31 people. After the training, we had a really nice ending with cake and soda. Many people had a lot of good words to say about Morten. We will miss Mr. Volleyball, so it is up to us who are left to manage the legacy and continue to create training with a safe environment, good mood and sporting joy.
Good luck with a new chapter Morten. Remember that you are always welcome at our training sessions if you are in the 'street'.
Last but not least, Morten himself has also written some well-chosen words:
Hello volleyball team!
Many thanks to everyone who made the trip to my last training session.
I appreciate it beyond belief, and it means a lot to me.
Almost 7 years ago, I was visited by Per and Lasse, who wanted me to start a volleyball group.
March 2017, we started our first training in the gymnasium at Solli DPS, and since then I have met a lot of wonderful souls.
Some have been with me since the beginning, or almost the beginning, while others have only been with me for a short time, and yet all of them have meant a great deal to me.
I have received a lot of wonderful feedback these 6.5 years, it warms my heart that my training has meant so much to so many, and seeing the joy, the development and the good atmosphere, has really bothered me.
Thank you very much to everyone, I hope you continue to enjoy your volleyball, and then we'll see each other again when I come to visit from the south one day <3
With best regards
Morten Asphaug
